Camphill Dialogue 15th-19th June 2011 Sylvia – koti Finland
February 2011
Dear Friends,
Camphill Dialogue is a triennial forum which aims to promote dialogue and cooperation among Camphill activities within our worldwide movement. It is primarily an ongoing international board members conference that also welcomes co-workers and friends.
The Dialogue Working Group (DWG) have met on several occasions in Sylvia - koti and in Botton and had tele conferences as well over the past three years. Our meetings have reviewed and reflected on many aspects of the planning, logistics, finance and themes of the latest Dialogue 2008 in Holland and also the Constitution and Vision Statement of DWG itself. An important development is the permanent web site for Camphill Dialogue, which we will use to post information and updates such as this one.
We invite you to visit www.camphilldialogue.net and encourage you to become a member!
What are Camphill’s Values and where do they find Expression?
We have asked six presenters to address three themes within the above title, plus two present members of the DWG to introduce the conference and reflect afterwards. Do have a look at the program on the website!
The presenters will be:
Michael Luxford and Stephen Baron on Thursday (Image of Man)
Wanda Root and Udo Herrmannstorfer on Friday (Social Renewal)
Richard Steel and Kate Skinner on Saturday (70 Years)
We have asked these three sets of presenters to share differing perspectives of their theme. One of each set is a long serving co-worker; the other is a long serving friend or board member. Their main task is to stimulate the conference participants’ discussion of the themes in facilitated Discussion Groups. The presentations and the discussions will be focussed in Working Groups in the afternoon sessions. Artistic Activities will feature as an important way into the themes.
Do take these preparations to your communities and particularly your councils for discussion. The role of governors in our communities needs ever more attention today and the deepening understanding of Camphill values is crucial to good governance.
See you there!
Steve Lyons
Chair of DWG
The members of DWG are: Jeremy Hart, Geoffrey Weir, Martin Sturm, Steve Lyons, Adrian Bowden, Matti Remes, Matti Tuovinen, Hannu Outakivi, Maria Sannamo, Richard Blake and Peter Beier.
